Just wondering if there was any CSR members I'm my area? We are in the Shoals area. Hope to hear from everyone.

Do you mean S. Alabama? As in Gulf Coast like your info says?

We are in the Shoals area; Muscle Shoals, Florence, the northwest area of Alabama. We try to go to Panama City Beach at least a couple times a year. Now that we have the boat, we are looking forward to taking it with us so we can do some exploring and maybe some fishing too. We really want to take it the Florida Keys some time or maybe even to the Bahamas. I really appreciate all the responses from everyone. With any luck, maybe we will get to meet some of you.

He mentions the Shoals area. That is in North Alabama.

We have the Gulf Coast on our info because that is where we really want to be. We actually live in the Shoals area, but someday hope to move to the Florida coast. We will be boating in our area also, but every chance we get we will be headed to the gulf. I would like to try Lake Guntersville. I have done a lot of work over there in the past years and would like to see more of the lake. We are looking forward to checking out as many places as we can. Who knows, we may even run into you sometime.

Lake Guntersville is beautiful. We kept our boat there, during the summer of 2011. Kept it on the trailer for the summer of 2012 and launched in Decatur, Guntersville, Nickajack, and Florence, cruising as far as Chattanooga to the east and Counce, TN to the west. We also towed down and launched at Orange Beach, which was awsome. For the Gulf Coast, that's the place to go with a boat.

I agree with you, the Gulf Coast is the place. We have never been to Orange Beach. We drove through that area a couple of years ago on the way back from Panama City Beach. We are looking forward to getting the boat in the Fl waters. How does your boat handle the rough water? Our boat is an 1988 25' Sea Ray. I like the classics.

I haven't been out in real rough stuff with it, but have gone in and out the inlet with pretty large rollers and crazy seas (inconsistent direction and periods). It was nothing that I feared (comfortable with the boat in that situation). I just new the wife and kids were not going to enjoy it. Not bad for a smaller narrow beam boat. At OB, there is so much backwater, along the ICW, that I don't see a need to go out when it's really rough.

But in Panama City, we have a barrier island, Shell Island, that allows you to stay in the bay, but anchor in shallow water behind the island close enough to walk across to the Gulf side for fishing, surf, shelling, etc. .........or play around the boat in calm water on the bay side.

And, I live in Tennessee part of the time and in Panama City Beach the rest of the time.......and boat in PCB.
