Anyone have Lowrance XOG?

$219.99 at Bass Pro until Father's Day or so.

I looked at it in the store, but did not buy. It looks like a decent, portable unit. The lakes and rivers card is ~$99.99 right now (again, at BPS), but there is a promo going on right now (until some time in July, I think) to get the card free after rebate if you buy a Lowrance GPS unit.

Looks like a cool unit - certainly would a great backup unit that could also be used in the car. The card says it has maps of east and west coast - would love to hear how they look.

I bought one at Christmas time for the boat. Paid $249 "on sale". I an unhappy with the navigation in the car. It takes the stupidest routes. In the boat, set on point to point navigation it works well. The screen is a bit small but usable. The extra chart card would make it better for sure.

Quint - does it show your position in latitude and longitude or show speed? Does it maintain good reception?

Yes, the speedometer is on the guages screen.

I find that the touch screen is difficult to use while the unit is mounted and we're underway, but maybe thats my fat fingers...

I find the reception is OK. Although I did have to give it a kick (restart) last weekend before it regenerated a new route.

It's a decent unit for the price.

I have never been terribly impressed by Lowrance's handheld units. The XOG is the most inexpensive way to do road and water though. $199 is a steal! I can match that if interested.
