When I press the helm windlass button the solenoid just clicks, and the windlass will not work when released. HOWEVER, When I hold down the helm button simultaneously with the up or down the windlass works perfectly from the helm and the foot pedals. Any ideas? Bad solenoid or should I check something else? Thanks. Dustin

Relay not locking. Try cleaning the red and blue wire connections.

I threw a bunch of parts at mine and it turned out to be a 25 cent blade fuse in the windlass solenoid in my E.R.

I’ve checked and swapped both fuses on the side of the solenoid. I’ve had the boat for a year and have just dealt with holding the helm switch simultaneously with up or down. Now I go to fix it and holding the switch no longer works

Probably just the solenoid. Simple swap out so I would go that route next.

Agree. Likely the latching solenoid. Some folks say whack with a hammer and might work but they're cheap enough to just replace. I had same symptoms and once replaced solenoid A ok

Agree, solenoid. Easy swap if you have decent access. My Slx was a bear and had to change it by feel, not site. Grrrr……

What is your battery voltage? i had the same issue but is was due to a low voltage battery.
