While sitting here in Northern New Jersey in the middle of a blizard I just started thinking that in 3 more days I will be in Miami at the boat show..... I feel much better now about the snow! Anyone else going to the show this weekend???

I will be there on Friday and Saturday. Anyone want to designate a meeting spot for CSR members?

I am driving down on Saturday as I leave on a cruise on Sunday- I am going to try and make the show Saturday afternoon and evening.

I will be there friday and sat if anyone wants to have a CSR meet up, I am game!

I might go tomorrow unless I am working....then I'll go Sunday. I'm up to pick a meeting spot...pick a place in the Convention Center and a time...how about the Sea Ray inside display in the main hall?

Is there docking at the show for coming by water?

Yesterday, there was space at the Miami Marina at Bayshore. $25 to tie your boat up for the day if space is available. You could catch a shuttle from American Airlines center to the show. Miami Beach is choked with construction right now. It took me 1/2 hour to get from the convention center to McCarthur Causeway.

The show is down a little even from last year. Sea Ray has a 47 and 50 Sundancer in the water. The brokerage show was pretty good. I don't like it nearly as well as Ft. Lauderdale. At FTL the show is largely consolidated. Getting between the 3 venues on Miami Beach is a PITA.

I'm going on Sunday or Monday, depending on the weather and my wife's mood....

Looks like I will be there tomorrow afternoon, through Monday. I have an airline ticket for tomorrow AM out of Newark, but trying to get on stand by tonight... I will check in here and see who else will be at the show. We usually make a stop at the Eden Roc outside bar while at the Brokerage show, maybe we can meet for drinks there Sunday afternoon.

I AM there now. Could be a bit warmer for So Fla. Crowds are better today.

Hey man...sorry about the weather. Coldest winter we've had here in over 25 years. I have seen frost 4 times in the 35 years I have been here and 2 of those have been this year!!

GDamn global warming...I'm tellin' you.

Sure it's global warming...today we had snow in Rome...first time since 1986!!!:grin::grin:

I went to the show on Thursday (I was already in Florida) last week and came back to DC on Friday. I like going to that show but it was down in attendance and vendors from previous years.

Marine Max had their usual Sea Ray display going and the new models looked great although I do believe they need to address the quality of the interiors compared to other manufacturers.

It was fun to see Reggie Fountain back selling boats although no hot Fountain swimsuit model show (damn economy).

I basically go for new ideas and to meet with suppliers. The mood was clearly down this year but the show was a lot of fun.

I thought it was a great show....my first time to this show though.

Marine Max did a good job showing off the Sea Ray's and Meridian's. There was a new Regal in the convention center that surprised me with it's excellent fit, finish, and layout. The speed boat with the ladies and hot tub was interesting....turbine powered.

We went over to the in the water boat show and toured a Prestige boat/yacht....50 footer...$839K on the sale tag.

Friends with me wanted to see the trawlers so I toured some of those and was very impressed.

Weather was cold for Miami but we had a great time.

Just got home. My thoughts (this my fourth Miami Boat Show in a row).

Attendence was definately much better this year than last. Saturday had large crowds, and lines formed to get into the bigger boats.

The number and types of boats is definately down. I estimate that there were 20% fewer boats displayed in the water and in the Convention Center. Many of the vendors that used to set up outside the Convention Center were now inside.

Sea Ray had a strong showing. The number and types of boats in the Convention Center was the same as previous years. However, the numbers of Boats in the water were greatly reduced. This year, Sea Ray put two boats in the water (one more with the Mercruiser display). Last year, I think they had at least six yachts in the water.

Overall, the mood was certainly better at this year's show versus last year. Last year was downright depressing. It seemed like there were more foreign buyers at this year's shows. Half of the boats that I saw that had been sold were going overseas.

Sea Ray's new 310 was on display. This is a popular size, and I thought that the Chaparell 310 had better innovative features on it.
