I'm having a boat lift installed and I want to make sure the water is deep enough for the boat and the lift rails at low tide.

The specs will be in your manual, or you can find them on Sea Rays website. I would guess about 20" with the drive up, maybe 38" with it down.

Thanks everybody! Now I can figure out if the water is deep enough.

Right now we're at low tide and the depth is roughly 33 inches. The rails of the lift are going to take up 10-12 I think. I guess it could be a little dicey at low tide.

How much does the moon effect your tides in Florida? I know at our cabins in Maine that it can change, sometimes by as much as 2 feet.

I guess just do as your boat's name implies!

Dennis,
Yeah it fluctuates a lot but before the lift it was tied up at the dock and the drive never bottomed out. So I think we're going to be OK.

Gotcha. I was only concerned that this might be a new area to you and you may not be completely familiar with it, yet. Sounds like you are, though. Good deal - lifts are a very nice thing to have!

The lift became a necessity. Galvanic corrosion was going after the outdrive and I was going through zincs too quickly. I found a guy who sells and installs used lifts and got a three year old 10000 pounder for $4500 installed. I figure that's cheaper than a new outdrive and I no longer need a diver to clean the bottom every month.
