I'm looking to match (from the same supplier that Sea Ray uses) my MAPLE finish Mica used in a '03- my concern is that it comes as close as possible to the factory material as this is a repair. I know that this comes in a sheet and can be shipped "rolled" and boxed.

I have had to take a panel off in the past and take it to a cabinetry store. Usually they can match it VERY close if not get the same material.

Didn't a CSR member just start a business as the aftermarket distributor of the laminate used by Sea Ray? I tried doing a search and came up with nothing, maybe someone else can recall.

TO ALL THOSE WHO WANT TO KNOW SEA-RAY'S SUPPLIER OF MICA IS POINTE PLASTICS IN AUBURN MAINE I know this for a fact as I work for UPS Freight and we pick it up for them every week if you need their phone number I'll get it for you tomorrow Andrew

Thank you very much for the responses and thank you PINKALE (in advance) for finding out who their supplier is on this as I will try to go direct if I can. One of the main concerns is matching as close as I can taking into consideration different run times / years old, die lots, etc. I once had to replace a Mica sheet in a refridge and had to reject two panels before I found one that had the right shading. Thanks,

Just Curious, don't you have a superb Sea Ray dealer right down the street from you in Colony Marine? I think they are an Ambassador dealer, aren't they?

Here's the guy that posted on CSR:

I bookmarked him because I am going to re-do one of my cabinets this winter.

I really appreciate the plug....that will come in handy when you place an order :) The lighter "maple" is also referred to as a Light Burl. We do stock that finish. However, it is always a good idea to get our Sample Kit to match up the correct shade. Most of the polycarbonate manufacturers are cutting back production since boat production for 2009 appears to be drastically reduced.

However, the good news (at least for Restoration Marine) is that owners are updating their interiors. I believe most are planning to hold onto their boats for a while and want a updated look. Others are repairing damaged panels.
