How long in hours approximately to travel nonstop from Jacksonville to St Augustine via ICW? Where did you stay, City Marina, Conch House, Commanche Point Marina?

I know the transit rates for Commanchee Point, but not the others

Thanks to anyone who may reply

Anyone beside Jacksonville members perhaps made this short trip an d recall the approximate time it took

I am just trying to figure a ballpark time estimate. the distance once one is started down the ICW from the St. Johns River is around 40 miles to St Augustine. There is a ten mile "No Wake" zone around Palm harbor. So I plan on being very quiet.

In addition to this distance I have 15 - 20 miles to travel getting to the ICW up the St. Johns, again there is around a five mile "No wake" zone. I will try to be quiet here also. :smt043

I am pretty certain I will not be able to do much cruising speed, so I am just trying to get a best guess estimate of how long the trip (with all else being equal) might take to travel the 60 or so miles.

We just came back today. It took 3 1/2 hours. We were having some work done at Oasis Marine just south of St Augustine to our home on Julington Creek. We have stayed several times at City Marina. It is very convenient.

Does city marina have shore power? Single 50 amp or two 30 amp connections. This first time I plan on staying at Comachee Cove Marina overnight. I have heard the Conch House has transit slips, but looking at the charts the water depth does not look so great getting there.

Thanks. I appreciate it, the rates are on par with Comanche Cove Marina. City marina's electric is $6.00 versus $7.00 for one 30 amp connection.

both are $1.95 per foot under 50 foot.

I was just over at Conch House last weekend, but I drove over, didn't boat. I do like their facilities, their docks seems to be in good shape, although there didn't seem to be much security.

Thanks

Are you planning on staying overnight? I think the Conch house has free day use, although I can't speak for certain. I didnt see anyone watching them, and people came and went without talking to anyone. There are also some very large boats in there, so the depth shouldn't be too bad.

EDIT: Just saw you're staying over night

There is no problem with depth at the Conch House. We go there for lunch several times a year. We also visit City Marina. No fees to tie up at Conch House while eating. City Marina has hourly fees. It is a great place to tie up (best fuel prices as well) and walk through the shops downtown.

With boat traffic at an low ebb I have not had any problems finding spots at either place.

I'd definitely consider the City Marina. Walk across the street and you're smack dab in downtown St. Augustine. I keep my boat at the Conch House and there's not too much around there (about a mile from downtown). If you don't have a car, it's quite inconvenient to call a cab. Camacheee Cove's even further out. All three marinas are very adequate however.
