Any Gouge on the Ft Myers 44DB?

No upgrades. Ready to move up. Empty nesters. Wife's done working. Retired from military. Time to live aboard more.

We looked at an '08 47SB, and I like the looks of that 44 better...

As I understand it, the 47 is a complete hard top and has V-drives. The result is that the boat rocks and rolls. Our dealer doesn't like them (especially the one they've been trying to sell for almost 3 years). The 44 is a straight drive boat and rides solidly. I kind of like the idea of the master stateroom being in the middle on the 47, but it's not worth going to v-drives for me.

Also, I agree on the looks. The side view of the 47 looks disjointed with the vents and the aluminum supports. The 44 looks like it came out of a single mold.

The master suite is impressive on the 47, but the fuel mileage is not. I seem to recall the 47 gets .48MPG while the 420/440 was up around .7

The strange thing is the full specs list this as V-Drives?

If justice had anything to say about it, the guy who was in charge of writing those specs is on full-time layoff.

They've always been full of mistakes, particularly with options (engines that weren't actually offered etc) and tankage capacities.

Nice boat, but the price??? almost a 1/2 mil. The Admiral says I have to build her house before she would even consider an upgrade.

besides with some of the coves I go into in Alaska, the 44 is too big.......:smt009:smt089

It would be a sweet boat to cruise the inside passage.....

John,

If my memory serves me right, during AC boat show in September our local MM had 2009 44DB that could be picked up just for another $10K-$20K extra.

Good luck with the hunt for a new floating condo.

It's still for sale - I've been having a look at it.

Still looking.

Looking for:
07 - 09 44 DB
Black Hull
Hard Top
Light Colored Couches and Dark Counter Tops (yep)
Want: Thrusters, Hydraulic SP, Helm A/C (Can add these)

Black hull! Brave man, they look amazing but thats a lot of work even more so than the blue.

Judging by the pics I have seen of your current boat, any black hull should be in good hands!

Thanks! Gutsy move, but they look striking when kept clean.
