Has anyone had any experience with Ace Recreational Marine Insurance? Their rates are appealing but cheaper isn't always better when you need your insurance company.
Appreciate any input!

Thanks,

I've had their policy on my 370 Sundancer for 1 year, and will be renewing shortly. No issues, no claims. The agent i purchased the policy from is a long time boater and tells me they are a good company. That's all i can add.

Not much of an endorsement, nor have I had any issues.

Unfortunately I had to deal with them for a claim. It was Sandy related and I'm sure they were swamped with claims. It was a little slow at first, getting an adjuster assigned. But they have been great, I have had no problems dealing with them. Every call is returned. I'm happy.

I have had them for two years now, purchased from Marks Insurance Group. They have are always responsive to any questions & handled haul out claim for us last year for a hurricane, paid promptly. Also gave great advise before bringing our boat up from S Carolina to the Chesapeake when we bought our boat. Their pricing was also very competive. Recommend them

I have had ACE since 2005, never a claim until this year due to Sandy. The claims manager was a real gentleman, all of his responses were timely and he was easy to reach either by telephone or email. ACE's rates were reasonable, I got the policy through the Alan Mott Agency in Huntington New York, even they were quick to respond after the storm.

I too have Ace. Got it through NBOA. No claims, knock fiberglass, but they've been very responsive to any questions I've had.

I have ACE through Alan Mott on Long Island too. He put me with them a couple of years ago after Zurich stopped writing marine insurance. Their rates have been very fair. I've never had to put in a claim with them, but the broker told me they are very good when he put me with them.

Have them through NBOA as well. No claims. Tried to ask a question of them (based on NBOA telling me that Ace would have the answer) and then got called back by NBOA telling me that Ace couldn't talk to me since they were only underwriters, not licensed agents. Anyway, the question was just why, with no claims, my premium went up (only a few dollars, around 3%). Anyway, that issue was with NBOA, not Ace. Either way, very competitive rates. NBOA said it was a general, across the board, rate increase. Yeah right. Trying to make up for Sandy, I'm sure. Oh well. Still the best price I've found and I've had them for a couple of years now.
