I am currently working in Colorado and im going to bring my boat up here for a while to do some work on it while im not working. So im looking for good places to take my boat while the boat is up here. Any good places to go? Thanks

Im not sure were that is. Unfortunately I live in Trinidad. My real home is Flagstaff AZ. and I boat at Lake Powell about 50-60 days a year. Im just up here working for a while and I want to use my boat so it isnt just siting around undercover.

I have been to Pueblo but it has been years and years and unfortunately I was a Landlubber at the time. :( I will look for a link for you and get back with you.

There isn't much 80 miles South of Pueblo, so I took a guess! My father lives in the area and I did too for a number of years. La Veta is just a little South and West of Walsenburg. In any event, Lake Pueblo is nice, but very cold right now. Here is a link to the park; http://parks.state.co.us/Parks/lakepueblo.

Best,
Chris

Thanks for your info. Do the train tracks go thru La Veta? If they do I go by there all the time. Is it by Agular? Have you been boating on poeblo?

There are tracks in La Veta, but I think it is a different line than what runs along 25....not sure though. Agular is South of Walsenburg on 25. I have been on the lake, but it has been a long time. It’s definitely not Powell, but nice, and relatively close to you.

I've been to Pueblo when I used to live in Colorado prior to 2002. Very nice lake. Good fishing. It tends to get busy on the weekends during the summertime. There are numerous good camping spots around the lake if that is your thing. The lodging in Pueblo is nice as well and it is close to the lake. http://parks.state.co.us/Parks/LakePueblo/

I just noticed also that John Martin Res is about the same distance as Pueblo. That is a nice lake as well, a little less crowded and a little warmer. http://parks.state.co.us/Parks/JohnMartinReservoir
