I have been a collector (or looker for) arrowheads for few years.

I got interested from forums like this & the subject coming up.

I researched it a lot. & learned a lot - a lot to learn !

It is a fun spring & fall hobby - after the growth gets too thick or mosquito's get too bad I slow way down.

I walk a lot of lake edges & creeks & washouts after rains (especially heavy rains)

Now the amateur paleontologist part for me is Unreal - I found a estimated 85 million year old Mosasaur - Long story & more stressful than you might think - I'd rather find a arrowhead (so far)

That is amazing.

How did you come upon this find? There has to be a good story there.

You need to say something about boating to isolated locations in your Sea Ray, or something like that.

Oh yeah. Definitely. You should see some of the ancient stuff that I've uncovered in the dark corners of the basement refrigerator.

Not active for many years but was back when we lived in sweden. My priced posession is a stone axe head passed down from grand father he "unplowed" on the farm. Several bone and stone arrow heads as well

Don’t use the word "Mosasaur" and not tell us what it means! I think you made it up!

A friend of my wife is in archeology and now lives in South Dakota. Is there lots of good stuff out there?

Mine was one of the largest ever found - but not complete & very worn in places

I'll post some of my pics & the news story later

Arrowheads go back 12,000 yrs & yes people have been here that long - 65 to 85 million is hard to wrap your brain around

WOW I am really excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who Cares about rocks and bones on a "boat" site that is for "Sea Ray" owners
THIS SUBJECT IS SO BORING THAT YOU CAN'T FIND ANYONE TO LISTEN ON THE PROPER SITES

GO TO THE WHO GIVES A CR-- SITE ABOUT BONES AND ROCK

Has to be a Professional paleontologist

they hate
amateurs who find most stuff - that pro's never do in a life time - but then bask in the spot light

Are you an idiot! This is the Holding Tank precisely because it is a non-boating-related thread....

There is a Old saying about people like this (I have read some of his other posts)

"Never get in a Pissin Fight with a Skunk - you will lose every time"

I don't want to go negative or Troll mode - But I have heard it all - been on the net since the begining (& I'm no longer proud of it) - But I'm a Pro & I can play that game & do it without hardly breaking rules & off the top of my head - I think things thru to logical conclusions pretty fast & can embarrass someone (& most likely eventually myself) & really never get Mad  But I seriously don't want to go there.

Also I have always hated Bullies & snobs (like the spelling police) I can now ignore a lot - but still basically believe you get what you give
