I'm getting ready to install a new head and holding tank system on our 86 300DB and would like to know where the holding tanks were installed from the factory on this boat. There is only a porta-potty in it now, one of the reasons we named it the "Day Tripper"
The previous owner said the tank would have been in the middle floor storage area, there is also room for it in the engine compartment on the starboard side, but it would be a lot harder to get hoses back to that area.
The Sea Ray archives don't show a detailed layout for this model and I didn't have any luck with contacting Sea Ray customer service.
Thanks Rick

I think our hulls are pretty close to the same. My holding tank is on the port side behind the generator below the lower helm station area. Do you have a vacu-flush system?

Looks like we have the same boat.

My holding tank is on the starboard side, behind the fuel tank, stern.

When I bought the boat, the previous owner had installed a 48gal fuel tank in the center for the generator.

In looking at the holding tank, it does look like it is in it's factory installed postion, but then again.........

That's where I thought it should be, but it is going to be difficult to get the hoses back past the starboard side gas tank. I didn't like the idea of having the holding tank in that center floor compartment inside the cabin, I'm not sure I would like a gas tank there either but...
That is the same boat. It looks odd seeing it on a trailer, I never considered mine to be a trailer-able boat, but I guess you guys have some big roads up there.

Also thanks Vern for the input but I think the 355AC is a different rascal. The 3000DB has the head/shower enclosure more forward on the starboard side.
I did get a good deal on a Vacuflush system off e-bay, a 706 series bowl and a 12VHT tank with all the mounting hardware for $289, came out of a 2005 Fountain. I think the tank is still a little small for this boat but it will be a major upgrade from the old porta-potty.

Thanks Rick

that is a long time to "hold it"!!

Rick, Welcome to CSR, My is on the floor in the center compartment. I personaly like the idea to have it on the engine room , not in the salon also it will be great to have a gas tank for the gen. like Tom.I have two PO so can not tell.good luck : Jorge

Mine is also on the port side, behind teh fuel tank, as previously mentioned

Tom

I have an 88 305 Sedan Bridge with Vacu Flush system and holding tank is starboard mounted next to generator outside of main stringers just forward of AC system pump and seacock

this is the factory placement according to the documentation I have for my boat.

Good Luck
