Boat Info
1989 Searay 340 Express
Engines
two 454 Mercruiser w/thru drives
Quicksilver QS7.5g generator
200 watt solar system

I have a 1989 Searay and am wondering what type of antenna is located in the round enclosure on the top beam...it seems to be original...I'm wondering if it will connect to my Garmin electronics which is radar capable??

Picture would help. Could be radar, TV or GPS based upon the information you have provided.

Im betting TV, photos would be helpful

Thank you gentleman for the reply...I feel it is original and as there used to be 2 TV's it may very well be for TV...I guess the only way to really know is climb up there and see...does anyone know what the original use it was given?

Send us a picture and we'll tell you exactly what it is. Pretty much every device on my arch is "round" in one way or another.

I understand...the boat is 6 hours from and I won't be able to get to it until next Tuesday...and the second part of this is that you will have to explain to me how to post pictures...

Fair enough.

If it looks like a flying saucer, that is your tv antenna.
If it looks like a mushroom, that is a GPS antenna.
If it looks like your pinky finger, that is your AM / FM antenna.
If it looks like a minion from Despicable Me, that is a satellite TV dome.
If it looks like a Yurt, that is a radar dome.

Thank you...as much as I can remember it is more like a flying saucer...with a light sticking straight up from it...I guess that is ok as I hope to put in a smart tv in the near future...I was hoping it was more in the line of radar as my Garmin electronics is radar capable...you have been a great help...thank you...Bob
