Another swimplatform install, 290DA

Took the boat out today and the performance does not seem to be affected by the platform....love it already.

Looks cool, David  I'm looking forward to testing mine!

Are you going to put some davit/dinghy on it?

That looks great.I'm pretty questionable about no support poles though. That's a lot of leverage with full size adults.hell, they make them all these platforms all the time so they know better than any of us would.I guess as long as you keep an eye on the bolts to see if they pull or crack over time then she'll be good.

I certainly like the idea of no holes under water though.

What the final cost for everything?

it is so funny SeaRay is doing away with the swin platforms on the new boats. I don't see how I could enjoy my boat without one. That is why the 310 now 330 is off the list. looking for a good 320DA

The platform crated and shipped from Arizona to Ohio was $2100.

Well, I bought another 290 Sundancer and decided to just go ahead and order a deck from swimplatforms.com. Hopefully, they get it here quicker than the 4 weeks they quoted.

I built the last swim deck for this same style boat. I'm looking forward to this style and to see just how much better it fits and if it conforms to the boat better. I'm a little iffy that it is a bit narrow.

I'm quite pleased with mine. It came a little earlier than they projected. Fits perfect, and best of all, no under supports. MM

I don't understand why the pre-94 style has no supports. It's the same lower hull design. Even the 97 270 has no supports. It's basically the same thing also. Yet, the 94 and up 290 has 3 supports underneath. I'd much rather not have those supports under there.

They sent supports with my platform but said I really do not need them. I did not use them and the platform is rock solid. I do not feel they are needed.

I sent them an email also, hopefully they tell me the same thing. I'd rather then not be under there with twins.

What difference do the twins make?

The transom assemblies are higher than a single and need more room so they notch out the rear portion of the mounting surface of the platform.

I'm not real sure how that makes a difference but that is what I was told. I'll get a better idea when I get it up against the boat.

Well supports or no supports you're gonna love it.
