To all of you who in the past helped me with my Gen I thank you. I know more about that piece of equipment than anything else on the vessel. I now have an issue with the carburetor. After replacing a ruptured fuel pump with after market item, the mixture is far too rich. I the idle mixture screw seems to have no effect on the RPM. Do I need a different pump or a detail carb cleaning. (More than gum out spray) Thanks in advance.

What kind of "after market" fuel pump did you install? If it is pushing more than 5 psi that can cause the problem you are experiencing.

The pump that I purchased was rated to 2-4.5 psi. I did replaced it with a AC Delco pump USCG certified form A.S.A.P. Problem solved. I'm still trying to figure out what the correct PSI. pump that is required? Were do I find this Info?
