Another Pet Peave

I'm gonna be 59 next month and actually I'm kinda glad I'm not 44. I love life on my terms but not so sure we will be dictating our terms in 40 years the way its looking. Lets hope that future generations get to study history so as not to repeat it.
Cheers
You know you are old when you think the world going hell. Ask your grandpa about Elvis. Every old guy thinks it’s going to hell.

You really wanna know what suck is! Suck is when I could have stored boat at my marina for free, but paid $600 to put for winter at another marina because they got an this awesome mechanic who does manifolds risers outdrive service for a really fair price, who now has diabetes, can’t do work, hey I do feel for him, but now I am out $600 for nothing and no mechanic to fix before launch. That is a pleave.

Not a Covid Related Pet Peave but just as annoying!
I am selling an old wooden run about that I originally bought to restore but then sold it my brother for his little working toy museum. He liked the 'Rat Rod look' of the the boat. Here a couple of years later he decides to move it along and asks if i would mind selling it for him. I put it on Craig's list and here two weeks later I get a call from probably the only living person who actually knows anything about this boat. Turns out that he owns the only other one in existence. There were three built in the 50's, Story is one sank in Tahoe and we have the other two. This guy lives 2 hours away but wants to come down and get this boat. It was advertised as needing restoration. He shows two hours later than originally planned, 9:00 PM looks at the boat for 1/2 an hour and then says he will pass because he doesn't want a project! I can't stand people that have no problem wasting others time!

Can anyone complain in this thread?

I've been shopping around trying to find someone to build a canvas for my 390.

I've contacted five shops, only three of those have bothered to reply. One said they no longer do boat work. The second one said they are so busy they don't want my work. (Thanks for the honesty, I guess?). The third one has been great with communication and actually showing up when they say the would. The last two just don't respond to emails or phone calls, so f'em.

I'm obviously going to go with the ONLY one that has responded and provided me with a quote. I've seen his work and it looks fine. He did seem to be set on offering a standard camper canvas option, and not really looking at the setup like Juggernaut had built. He blew that off saying it wouldn't hold up in the hurricanes that we get here, and they wouldn't warranty it if I failed to take it down. That bothers me a bit, but again, he's the only local to even show up, and he's promising to get the work done in a timely manner (end of July).

Thanks Covid....

Funny how canvas guys build you what they want instead of what you want.

Your way is no more work...might even be less but what’s clear is that only good idea is their idea.
