Had a fun day on the water, along with hundreds of other people (or so it seemed). We departed around 2:15 from our marina and headed to Wrightsville Beach via the ICW for the 10 minute drive.

We saw plenty of other boaters and one really nice Sundancer. I think it was either a 480DA or 500DA and it was royal blue in color (maybe a member here?). We followed them to the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge heading south and boy did we make some boats turn into airplanes with our wakes! We lost the DA after they anchored off to the side of the channel. Beautiful boat.

This is what we call the party sandbar. A lot of the people in the condo's come here and have large picnics at low tide.

The draw bridge and tons of boats. Some were waiting for the packed boat ramp (I don't miss that at all) and some were coming through. Fortunately, almost everyone seemed mindful of others!

nice, you need to take down the glass and get some wind in your hair...if you have any.

Yeah it does tend to get quite warm with the curtains up, especially when you first get on the boat. I'm sure they will come off during the summer. We took off the back curtain today, but took off both back sides last weekend.

Saw you out there yesterday, we were on a 60ft motor yacht just north of Figure 8 bridge. Nice looking boat

I remember seeing that yacht. I saw a lot of people on the bow waving and I waved back. Very cool.

Nice pictures and great cruising grounds. I envy you. You said that you don't miss using the ramp so you must keep the boat in the water. Do you flush the engines with fresh water when you get back? How do you protect the Bravo IIIs?

We keep our boat in a salt water slip on the ICW, so it's constantly in the water. We haven't flushed the engines yet as we've only used the boat twice. I've looked at some in-water flush kits but haven't decided so far. The previous owner (we bought the boat a month ago and have only used it twice) had new paint put on the outboard part of the I/O drives just before we bought it. There is also brand new bottom paint too. That helps a lot in keeping the growth off.

Other big things are the manifolds, risers, and anodes. The anodes protect the engine from being damaged by electrical currents in the salt water (or any water for that matter). It's always good to take the boat out of the water a few times per year to check underneath and ensure the boat is in good condition.
