wow
big fish!!!!!!!

Yea, no kiddin' eh? Being a west coast kid it took me a minute or so to realize that these guys are actually standing "ON" the lake and that funny little sort of round thing at the bottom of the picture is a "HOLE" in the lake that they are fishing through. Holy smoke man!! That looks like a foot thick crystal clear crust on the lake, can't imagine, wow. Must be bloody cold out there,,,, and they're smiling!!!!!! And the dude doesn't even wear gloves and his sleeve is wet,,,, yikes YIKES.jpg

yea

it looks like he used a hole saw and cut a 6 inch hole

did u see all the slush on bottom as its startingtp frezze back up

Wow. Glad to see he released the big boy.

In CA the fishing slows down here, and the bass and other local species go into semi hibernation until the water warms up around June. Do the fish continue to bite year round in these froze over lakes?

Just another day in the northland. We have to do something in the winter.

We fish for rainbow all year 'round on our lake. Winter time is the best 'cause you can troll a plug or lure close to the surface and there's no need for the down riggers. That makes for a decent fight too, just your line, lure, and maybe two ounces of weight, doing battle with a 10+ lb trout,,,,,, cool. During the summer they're anywhere from 80 to 120 feet down but the big ones are illusive.
