ANOTHER exhaust manifold!!

Geez, 98 hours on the motor, and we now have to replace the starboard side exhaust manifold gasket. At the end of last year, the port gasket failed, and it was fixed this March.

Anyone ever heard of this? I mean, 2 gaskets one on each side of the engine, failing. Should I be looking out for anything else that may be causing this? Does this leak in turn cause other problems?

Usually caused by incorrectly torqued manifold mounting bolts. If there's a pattern, could be a warped part, either the exhaust ports on the head or the manifold.

Thank you for the input. We shall see what happens. Right now both have been under warranty, and he is turning this around for us by weds as we leave for Winni on Friday.

The tech at Merc on the manifold portion must have been drunk at work that day.
