This is what happens when people elect and promote incompetent people. The government just lost a similar case in Maine dealing with lobsters and the same whale. In that case they determined that the Biden administration did not have the authority to curtail the Lobstermen based on anecdotal data: One case of a Right Whale 20 years ago.

It just seems from gas stoves to internal combustion engines.......this administration wants to do every wacky thing it can think of to piss people off. Maybe they need to stop hiring men who wear dresses and steal luggage at airports?

Yep, they think there are only ~50 of this type of whale left. So NOAA is trying to limit the strikes by imposing the speed limit. As if there are that many boat's striking whales in general. I think cargo ships are more to blame then recreational boats are. And the commercial traffic isn't part of the limit.

This particular proposal falls under the rule that says "always stay on the offensive and keep your enemy off balance". They keep throwing so many BS rules and laws at the American people that the people don't have the time or energy to see what they are actually looking to accomplish. And guess what. It works because the left votes, the right gripes. We just had a primary in our state with an 8.8% turnout in our county. "Intensions count for nothing in life." Most on the right wait till the last day to vote and then forget. The left has already mailed their ballots in months ago and have won before we even show up. A vote at home counts big, a vote missed counts for nothing. Do you vote EVERY election or just like to gripe? Be honest.

I do and I live in Virginia. The Dem primary just held is an excellent example of the stupidity involved. Several long-term elected moderate Dems were slammed by this primary despite having Republicans show up and vote for them. One in particular has been a State Senator for almost 20 years and he was beat by a guy from Bangladesh that lives in his parent's basement and is a complete Socialist.

So ask yourself......who votes for someone like that?

FYI, NOAA is not an organization that was ever authorized by Congress so technically they have no law making authority. They have taken it upon themselves to create "rules" they impose that then have the same impact/effect as a law passed by Congress. At least until someone challenges them in court over it.
