I have a sundeck 260, 2007, and had posted a water, bildge question a while back. It seemed on these boards unanimously, that after a trip, your bildge should be bone dry.

Went out yesterday with my buddy, he has a mastercraft x80, new. After day of boating, I looked in my bildge, and it had tiny bit of water, just enough to squirt out a small cup of water out bildge manually.......then looked at his.....and was same amount in his bildge. He told me that when he got his boat, they told him you will always have tiny amount of water in bildge after use. Is he right? Seems unlikely his new boat, and my almost new both have leaks.

It is not uncommon to have some spray enter the side air vents.

A cup of water is nothing. On the 240/260SD quite a few things drain to the bilge like the drink holders, front ice chest, etc, etc. Do you have any water in the center storage area? Was it dry to start with?

Interesting question, my center large storage are looks a touch wet under the mesh rubber. What does that mean?

That is normal since all the drains I was talking about drain to the front storage area (which drains to the large storage area) or the large storage area. You will find that the drain from the large storage area to the bilge sits about an inch or so above the floor. You will get some water draining back to the bilge when you start up on plain. I made a wood insert for the storage area just to keep everything in the storage area high and dry.

My 1990 230 always has a little water in the aft bilge as well. I know that almost all storage areas are drained towards the back and have physically seen some water getting into the air intakes on the side when taking people out tubing.

I'd be more concerned if you started seeing significant amounts of oil in the bilge.

If I come off plane too fast in my '97 290 Sundancer, the wake will come back and over the swim platform, allowing some water to flood back up the drain troughs and get into the bilge. (Took me forever to figure out where that water was coming from.) Now I just come off plane nice and easy, staying ahead of that wake until it settles all the way down.
