Annual trailer maintenance

Chris.. I'm like you about servicing, repairs, etc. (but a heck of a lot older!) I just always have the shop I use to winterize my boat to service the trailer at the same time.

Have you looked into a vo-tech for a class?

Actually I have and I've found nothing except for a marine mechanic school in Orlando (2hr from me) but I have a feeling that would be out of my price range and they get you certified in all the different manufactures.

I tried the local Community Colleges but they have nothing that sounded like what i wanted. Tried the local Adult Extended education schools too. The one has a Auto Repair class to learn how to change your oil and stuff but nothing like what I want.

In high school they offered a small engines and auto course I should of taken it, instead I took computer programming and Accounting now look I can't change a tire but I can write a hell of a nice computer software package. HAHAHA

Seems like this would be a great idea for someone with the money and knowledge to start a DIY Boat Mechanic class or school or something specially with the economy the way it is, might even sell more boats if people could work on them on their own.

I just replaced 2 brakes (calipers and rotors) on my trailer while the boat was on the trailer. Took me a total of 2 hours and a few beers with my dad. Not a bad job at all. I got the parts through my uncle that he bought at wholesale price from continental. Apparently, they use Tiedown Engineering vented disc brakes.
