twin 8.1 liter HO gas engines
i just had the annual service completed on my 2005 390 sundancer with twin 8.1 HO gas engines. all seems to be fine with three exceptions: the hatch lift keeps tripping the breaker on the very slow way up due to what sounds like one faulty motor, an exhaust hose on the starboard side has been cut into but not all the way through by the engine hatch pin and last the port shaft and i assume the prop spins slowly while in neutral. any words of wisdom before Itackle these issues?

Don't worry a bit about the port shaft spinning in neutral. It means your clutches are good, but the shifter may be off a hair. It does not hurt a thing. Every inboard I have had has had that problem at one time or another. You can reach down and actually stop it with your hand (if you were so inclined, but don't recommend it.. )

If I rev mine up to say 1500 RPM, the spinning actually stops. As for the other issues, I can't comment on them. No experience there.

The propeller shaft spinning is due to your transmission "creeping", I had this condition pop up twice on my 300 Weekender with BW Velvet drives, had to be pulled and repaired. Was not a very expensive fix, couple of hundred bucks each time (me doing the in and out labor). Will not be that cheap for V-Drives. Was most annoying when trying to put her in the slip as my starboard prop was providing just enough thrust to push me out of shape.

i have an update. thank you for the reply on the shaft spinning when in neutral not being a problem. the cut hose is approximately 3 feet long and about 6 inches in diameter almost horizontal going back from the engine. it is obviously not cut all the way through. the hatch problem looks like it was a bad ram because the ram just bent in half on the chrome section while i was cycling the hatch up and down. the last issue is that when i turned on the air conditioning and the pump relay there is no water pumping out of the boat (the seacock is open). is there a breaker i should check?

Is there no water pumping with both A/C units on or just one? If it's just one you've got a bad trigger. If you do a search on triggers you should find a few threads on the subject.

I had a problem with my AC. When I would turn the AC on, no water would pump through the system and the AC system would shut down (high temp). My water pump was air bound. I took the hose off the suction side of the pump and primed the pump.

On the exhaust hose...
If it's a small area of chafe, the usual "fix" is to take a short length of the same dia. exhaust hose, and cut it open lengthwise. Slip it over the chaffed area, and secure it in place with a couple of wire ties. Do this anywhere you have a hose (exhaust or any other type) that crosses something that could chafe it. It's also helpful in reinforcing hose bends; adds rigidity to keep the hose from kinking.
