I need a new anchor , was thinking of the plow style . I have a 330 dancer , can anybody recommend the right size for my boat ? What are your thoughts on the hinged version vs the non hinged one . thanks

I have a 340 Dancer and use a 16lb Delta plow and have never had problems.

My lake is a mud bottom fresh water lake that gets VERY windy at times as I live in Kansas and you know the whole Wizard of Oz thing!

Anyway, all I have ever had is the plows and have never had problems. Make sure you have enough chain to get a good solid set when dropping it!

The Parts Manual for your boat lists a 20lb anchor.

A 25lb Plow is what came standard on my boat and is standard on many 2000s SR Sport Cruisers.

I like it better than the (hinged) Danforth. Based on my experiences, when using a windlass to lower the anchor, a plow is easier but when you have to manually deploy or throw the anchor a Danforth works better. What did you have before?

My 1998 290 DA came with a 22 lb. Delta plow. It was marginal, but I had no chain.

My 380 DA has a 33 lb. Delta plow. I suggest the 33 lb. with about 30' of 5/16" chain.....hope you have a windlass. Chain makes all the difference in the world.

So i guess a 22 lb would be ok for my 310???

What about for a 410DA? Any idea of size?

Forget the question, I found it in a parts manual (35 lb plow)

I use a 9KG (20 lbs) CQR anchor and about 10 meters of 5/16 chain for my 230 DA. Might be over kill but one night at anchor the wind came up and 7 out of the 15 boats that were in the cove dragged anchor that night. I didn't move a bit.
My galvanized anchor might not have the bling of a SS anchor but it does the job it was intended to.:smt038
