Anchor Suggestions?

+1 on USA shackles. In construction, we require USA only shackles because we're using them for safety-critical items such as lifting materials and securing guardrails. I'd take the same approach with your boat. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback, I ordered two of the USA shackles!

For what it's worth, I run a zip tie through the hole in the shaft and around the inside of the horseshoe as a extra measure of protection to ensure the shaft stays screwed in.

Hey gang, just a quick update:

Used my new Greenfield coated anchor and chain yesterday , we were at the lake all day and anchored in several different places.
The anchor performed great! It was so nice to throw that old mushroom anchor that the vinyl coating was peeling off on and looking rough, into the trash bin.

The Greenfield anchor will not fit under the front seat cushion compartment in my 190, but fits nicely under the starboard side bow cushion.

Thanks again for the suggestions, I am very pleased with my new anchor.

Should probably use seizing wire. That is what you should use on a shackle to keep it from loosening.
