Anchor Savor

Never lost an anchor (I'm sure I'll regret saying that), but most guys use the simple breakaway technique mentioned if they're anchoring in an area where they're concerned. No, this isn't for storm anchoring... just wreck/reef

Drill a hole in the forward shank in the location shown in the link provided, and attach the anchor shackle to that point. lay the chain along the shank and secure it to the hole normally used for the shackle, with several HEAVY DUTY tie wraps. Same end result as the "fancy" setup at no cost...
 
I've seen it at a few boat shows and it really seems like a great idea. Will see what the deal is at the Miami Boat show next month and probably pick one up. You never need it till you need it...
