My rode is worn and i need a new one,Is it necessary to buy from Good? I do not see the differance in 3 strand nylon from anyone else.Anyone know if there is a better place to buy the same rode?
Good dosent give much info about the lay or anything else.

I'm not sure if they have any special requirement but I swapped my original line end for end and re-spliced a thimble on. Most of my anchor line was still in very good condition just worn on the first 50-100 feet or so. Should be good for many many more years.

swap end for end or if your like most of us you only anchor in shallow water, so remove the offending section (first 60 to 70 feet) and reattach anchor.

I had one of their windlass and rode set ups on my old boat. If memory serves, I think they use New England Rope and Good's prices were pretty consistent with other sources for that product so I just got it from Good. It's been a couple of years since I got the rode so I may be wrong or things could have changed.

I had to replace mine a while ago and used darkhorse marine. They did a great job will very good prices. Used 250 feet of mega plait line and 40 feel of chain.

You could also cut off the crappy part of the existing rode, unless the crappy part is a significant percentage of the total. I did that on my previous boat and added as long a length of chain as I could fit to weigh down the shank and protect that end of the rode.
