Anchor rode and winter storage?

So I have always pulled my anchor and rope/chain and stored it in the garage over winter. Anyone leave theirs on the boat? I do not have a windlass so it really isn't an issue pulling it. My boat stays in an underground mine in the winter.

not sure what you are trying to avoid here. I don't see any advantage to removing it. Mine has just stayed in the storage locker below the windlass for 10 years. The only thing I have done is reversed the rope so that I am now using the other end of the rope to the anchor.

After thinking about it I think I'm going to continue to pull it each winter. Be too easy for it to get stolen in storage
