I have a Cruisers that had a Fortress style anchor. It sucked in Texas mud bottom conditions. Always broke free regardless of scope. Switched to a Delta/plow type anchor and problem solved. It's an anchor application/equipment issue, not a boat issue.

The fortress anchors work great here in Texas but you have to adult the fluke angle and use the mud palms that come with it to have them work effectively in mud.

I gave up with that damn anchor. The delta has been trouble free.
