The anchor locker hatch needs to be replaced. The marine plywood has rotted. Anyone know where I can obtain a new hatch or know of a place I can have a custom replacement built?? (A solid teak hatch would be nice!!!).

My 89 300 DA has the same problem but I'm just going to recore the hatch with new wood and epoxy. I don't know of anywhere you are going to find a ready made hatch replacement. You'd have to make a teak one yourself if that is your desire. The recoreing doesn't seem like it will be too big of a project. Last winter I totally rebuilt my swim platform due to water intrusion rotting the core. Work from the back side of the hatch and you shouldn't even affect the finished side, so it should look origional.

I have two 300's. One of the anchor locker lids was missing, the other was rotted. I used the rotted one for a pattern and made two new ones out of 3/4" (or was it 1/2") tread patterned Starboard. USed router on the edges. Looks better than new. Instead of a lock, I have routed a finger pull in that location. The thought there was to evenually buy the lock and enlarge the hole to install, but I like the finger pull.

Hellow: there i just remove all the wood and filled with fiberglass them painted white with spray . it wont rott again.
good luck.

Thank's all, for the responses. It seems the most inexpensive method is to 're-core' the hatch. The Fiberglas outer covering is intact and should easily be separated from the rotted out plywood and re-glued to the surface. I'll contact the woodworking website just to see if they can build a teak replacement. (Certain it will be $$$$ if they're able)
