The anchor light has two bulbs. The rear one was out so I decided to change them both while I was there. It was difficult to remove the bulbs so I cleaned everything but realized I had the light turned on. It seemed like I shorted my small screwdriver while removing the front light.

Now the front light doesn’t work but the rear one does. I dropped the access panel on the arch and checked for power on the two leads. Now the anchor light receives power (rear) but the NAV light, which should be the front light, no longer has power. In addition to this the light just below the locker was lighting up when NAV lights was enabled and now that is not coming on.
I checked the circuit breaker under the dash and none appear to be tripped.

Anywhere else I should look?

I hope I did not damage the touchpad. Everything else on that touch pad is working fine. Front nav lights are also working.

Any ideas?

Did you check to see if the rest of the "Nav" light system was working? Bow lights and stern light.

Can you better explain "none appear to be tripped"? Meaning, it sounds like you just gave it a cursory glance. Try actually resetting it to see if it's popped.

The bow nav lights are in fact illuminated. The stern light below the locker was not. The small led on the touch panel was lit also and I hear a clicking when depressed.

As for the circuit breaker, I compared the one labeled nav lights to all the others and admit I’m not familiar with these rubber boot covered buttons. I did try to press all of them and see if any seemed higher than the others, hence my comment, they don’t appear to be tripped but am I looking at them wrong?

You mention "touch pad" if you have a eim there are fuses inside there

This is what I have. Are you saying inside the eim itself it has fuses?
If so how to access them? There is no mention of other fuses in the manual or on the parts list except for items 26 and 25. How did you change yours?

No, it sounds like you're checking the breakers correctly. The rubbers are just there for waterproofing. The breakers "pop straight out" when tripped.

Do you have power at the stern light? Is the bulb good?

On smaller boats a fuse block is used, however on larger boats it's multiple breaker panels.

I will double check, but the stern light worked right before I started this mess. I’ll verify I didn’t blow that bulb.
Who would have thought changing a bulb is causing me so much grief.

LD - No power to either light.

I did check the two fuses in the fuse block in the pic above just in case.

Any other thoughts? Are there really fuses in the eim as bt doctur suggests?

I am also having Nav light issues, however i belive it is the onset of the pad failure, when i depress nav light , the nav and anchor come on in touchpad how ever both mast light do not work, back and front do. If i depress th eanchor button only, the green light comes on brightly but nothing on mast. both bulbs are good. I am really stumped

Also the are no fuses in the touchpad modules, its a sealed unit

I just replaced my Ancho light on my 2001 340 with a perko LED on a seaview radar mount. 3 wires - red, grey, white. Wired it in and replaced the old. Tested it and light came on. Failed a safety inspection at the marina because it will only shine in front. I have 2 independent switches for nav and anchor light. Discovered I had to order a $50 converter module as the LED requires a double throw switch or this module to retrofit into older incandescent setups...

Its always something...

Update:

I feel so luckily right now!!

I talked with Pyro last night who is making touch pad prototypes. He talked about checking schematics.

So today I printed all the schematics today at work and was discussing with our controls engineering manager my issue. While showing him pictures of the eim on eBay, I realized there is a second eim in the engine room and it too has a circuit breaker labeled “nav lights”. THIS breaker was tripped. Reset and all is working.

Thank goodness I don’t need a eim, at least right now:).

So that's kinda funny, actually. This whole time I was referring to the breaker panel in the bilge and didn't know (or remember... ;) ) that the FORWARD EIM had a NAV light breaker! Glad it's an easy fix!

I replaced both of my masthead bulbs with LED's. Now when I turn on the Nav lights both the nav light and anchor light indicators on the touchpad are on at about half intensity. Nav lights and anchor lights work property. Changing the masthead lights back to incandescent to see if will solve the problem.

Did your original masthead have two light, one forward facing and one behind? That is how mine was and I connected it to the nav light and left the anchor wire disconnected. If you connected bot to the light then you have cross connected the two switches.

Mine does the same thing but all works just fine. When you push just the anchor light is the small led still bright?

Seems like I'm having the same issue...masthead light not working, touch pad light is only lighting up dimly. Also, spotlight is not working...any ideas folks?

If you already changed the bulb and looked for the circuit breaker reset, I would put a meter on the bulb holder to see if you are getting voltage there.
Also, while not familiar with you boat, I would guess that unless the circuit breaker controls both light systems, these two may not be related. Good luck

Thanks. Update/ it was the bulbs and all is well. Now to the spotlight.

Yes with the anchor lights on both lights on the masthead are on and only the anchor indicator on the touchpad at full intensity. Changed the bulbs back to incandescent and problem with both nav light and anchor light indicator being on solved.
