thanks for the replies on the different chains....I ordered and received 100' of 5/16" G4 chain...$278 delivered to my house.....I also got a couple of the connecting links that were recommended.....i'll connect the new chain to the 25' of chain i have now and i'll probably leave at least 100' of the anchor rode as well....i'll use the section of rode closest to the tie off in the anchor locker since it has probably never been in the water and should be like new.....i'll have to learn how to splice the rode to the chain.....we usually anchor in 25' or less of water depth so 125' of chain should be plenty for my situation....I plan to use red paint to mark every 25' of chain......
