Anchor button not working

I had a similar issue with my windlass. I could hear clicking at the windlass, but it would not move up or down with the dash up/down switch or the foot switches. It turns out my dash switch (windlass main) was not making good contact when on (light was not on). I turned it off and on about 20 times and in essence cleaned the contacts. It working fine again.

Possibly if it’s not the dash on/off switch, one of the wire connections is bad.
Do u have the eim control modules on your boat? Or regular switches?

Honestly not sure.

I have rocker style switches on the dash. The windless main switch is not a true rocker. You push it up and it turns on, but it doesn’t “click” and stay up like most of the other switches. There is a solenoid up near the windlass. I could hear the solenoid clicking when the dash switch was not on when I presses the windlass toggle down on the dash. When the dash switch is on it somehow allows power to flow to the solenoid. I didn’t have to break out a volt meter and trace wires, since it’s working fine now.

1997 330EC if that helps.

These are CANBUS keypads and they are not individual switches wired in.
