I am replacing the solinoids (up and down) on my 12v Good anchor windlass. The people at Good won't tell me what size solinoids are required (irritating). I guessed and opted for 300 amp. Before I install them I would appreciate input on whether the 300 amp solinoids are sufficient for the job. Thanks in advance for guidance.

what is the circuit breaker size?
Just be sure to be larger than that

300 is overkill I'll bet

Not sure on circuit breaker size nor how to determine. I'm guessing overkill is better than underkill.

find your battery switches and follow to the main breaker panel. A breaker there will be for the windlass. Or an external breaker nearby. Usually on 50 amps or so.

My windlass is on a 50A breaker. But I guess if your 300A solenoids are not size prohibitive, they should be fine.
The only other concern would be the pull-in current... my coils have 5A fuses.
