Anyone have any suggestions on where to mount a 4 channel amp and a subwoofer amp on a 1994 230 DA?

The previous owner had them both mounted in the engine compartment, without any inline fuses installed. Definely want to get them out of the engine compartment and wire them correctly.

The only location I can think of is on one of the walls of the mid cabin. There will already be an inverter mounted in there so it may get to crowded in there with too many heat generating compnents.

Do you have a windlass? The reason I ask is this; when you step down into the cabin of my boat, there is a closet on the port side in front of the aft cabin. I mounted 2 x 1000 watt 4 channel amps in this closet, and it turned out to be a great place. The 2 guage wire runs through the top of the closet to the windlass, and also the stereo head is only 5 feet away on the other side of the dinette. Definetly consider where your wiring currently runs before moving. Utilizing what the boat already has in place is the easiest way to keep things simple.

Thanks for the suggestion Chris, but on a 230 DA that "closet" is more of a cubby hole. There is barely engouh room to get an amp in there and there is no way to get enough room in there to attach wires. Plus it is right beside the ice box, and I wouldn't want that much heat beside it.

I do not have a windlass so I will have to run all my own power wires but that is not too big of an issue.
