Hello all...

I have a 2002 Amberjack which is a great boat for us. We have had it now for about two years. I think that the canvas is original. We live on the Canadian west coast and use it for fishing and cruising. We put a camper back on the boat when I bought it but the job was not done overly well in consideration of the west coast and having the boat out in the elements.

So I am considering replacing the new canvas and the old one with a custom fit nor properly designed... Or as I have been considering lately, putting a hard top on the boat instead of the canvas top to allow for some interior lighting etc etc...

Has anyone done this or know of anyone who has done it?? Recommendations, considerations...

One main concern I have is the weight of the top and how it might change the ride of the boat from that of the light canvas.

Cheers

Purplehayes,

I have an Amberjack that has a rigid soft top installed by a local marina. Unfortunately they are out of business now. You can see it in my signature. There was a article in Sea Ray Living Magazine about a guy from New York who took his Amberjack on the intercoatal to Key West and into the Gulf of Mexico. He also had a top similair to mine. Maybe you can get a copy of that magazine and with my picture, you can find a local fabricator. If you need some addtional pcitures, let me know.

I am looking to do the same. 290 amberjack. I thought seaRay had the hardtop as an option. Is this correct

Yes, 07 and up. It was an option. I was told by the dealer that they did not make many because it added a huge cost to the boat. I was lucking enough to get one.
