Am I missing something???

I don't watch much TV, and it's usually the news or NFL when I do watch it. That generally puts my football and news watching in the evening. Well, except for bowl games and football games on Sundays.

Lately it seems that most every commercial is filled with obese black women (or sometimes white women) and they always seem to be dancing in the streets or taverns. A quick check of Google says that 39.6% of the US population is obese, and 13.9% are black.

So, given those two statistics, why are we fed an almost constant stream of black people and/or obese white women and black women dancing?

I asked this in another thread. We watch a lot of tv, light sleeper, it stays on all night. Last night i did a count. After an hour, 2/3 of commercials are darkies, 1/3 whities. Somewhere in there, i didnt separate count, were mixed couples. And one ridiculous super fat chick wobbling and thinks its dancing.
So i googled the question, and omg, we are not the first asking, many hits discussing this new American phenomenon.

Just about every commercial has a same sex couple. That's less than 7% of the population, but it gets foisted on us every day. Says the straight white male.

Some of the commercials are just stupid - fat lady dancing around in a bright yellow dress singing about some drug with a made up word for a name!

It's like there is a checklist for a commercial these days:
Same sex couple - check
Mixed couple - check
Mixed same sex couple - check
Plus size woman - check (trying to be correct there)
* All of the above is very confusing to this old white guy, usually the commercial is not long enough for me to figure out what is going on.

Sure most of these people hate the middle aged white guy with gas powered boat! Of course they think we all look like the fat suntanned go fast guy with a gold chain around his neck.

What do you think the woke SeaRay TV commercial would look like?

You forgot to mention that almost all commercials have interracial marriages and kids. Some have all ethnic backgrounds in the com. except us old white guys. The ones that make up over 60% of the population. We're not allowed anymore. We must pander to the minorities now. What we think is wrong and everyone else is right, even if it's the same thing ...
