:huh:Where is the old guard, I leave for a few months and the place is cleared out, the holding tank requires a passcode!

Was there a mass kick out or walk out.

Whats going on?
 
Some Jack A$$ pushed forum rules & general internet behavior to the edge & then kept pushing. Now we all are paying for it. Im sure someone else will post links to various threads (if they have not been removed) but I don't like soap operas so.....Lets just say a few members have decided to throtle back on the amount of posting.
 
Hey I'm here to talk boats, Sea Ray's, boat handling, safety and to help other boaters get the most enjoyment from their investment they can. Boating is more than a passion for me it's a away of life.

A little sniping is to be expected with so many personalities. I know this site had trouble some time back and the Big Boat Guys left for a time, they all came back.

New year , new ideas tough times bring on a lot of stress. Let's just go boating.

Small boats and big boat shave far more in common than they have differences, it is just a matter of zeros.

For me, I took exception to site management when members offered to provide financial support to the site so a better faster server could be provided. Then, after the "chip in" the site owner made the fee mandatory to have the same benefits that were previously free. This is is a commercial site for the benefit of the sponsor and a fee to me to be more equal than another member offended me. I still come around, but management kicked the passion out of me on that one. It was like a slap in the face and I still feel that way, so please spare me the justifications for supporting the site, I gave whew it was not a requirement for equal access.

No "mass kickout". Several members have cut back mildly or significantly, almost all voluntarily, on their posting. The most conspicuous absence is FourSuns, who apparently received some pretty virulent threats to himself AND FAMILY from another "member". Jim saw to it that the offending individual was banned, but Gary has apparently chosen to vamoose. It's a real shame, as the place doesn't seem the same......
 
Wow, Chad that took a 180. Gave me a chuckle but made me wonder if the meds wore off half way through the post....

Let's keep our facts straight. Gary made mention of a letter he supposedly received telling his wife that Gary himself had posted personal information about his house and family on this site. Which he did. There was NO mention of any threat virulent or otherwise. Go back and read the thread in "General Discussion".
Shortly thereafter Skip used Jims site here, CSR, to publically announce his succession and to invite a select few to his personal site. Apparently all the know-it-alls and toadies took him up on his offer.
 
Exclusive sites eventually run out of steam. The key is to treat new members well and to play by the Golden Rule meaning to respect each other by not resorting to personal attacks.

You do not find any highly successful websites that have been around for years where personal attacks are allowed.

People come here to discuss boats, not to read crap unrelated to the website or read the writings of people with personality disorders at war with one another.
