Hello, I am looking to install a am/fm/wi-fi antenna system, anyone out there have one on there boat? I saw one a few years ago and now I can't even find one on the internet.Any ideas?

Combination antennas are rarely a good thing. When they are receiving only they work OK at best. When you add in a transmitter they don't do well at all. The frequencies covered by AM, FM, and WIFI are so different that most likely two of the bands will suffer from poor reception. FM likes a vertical antenna about 34 inches long. For AM, the longer the better and it doesn't matter about orientation. WIFI antennas are very short, usually around 5-6 inches.

You only need one antenna for the WIFI for the AM/FM use the rub rail of the boat works great for me.

Here is the wifi antenna my friend uses on his motor home and boat, it works great for me when we stay in his motor home in Florida.

Thanks for the info, the use would be for a laptop and a blackberry cellphone that has a USB port, would it work well for a blackberry?

My BB can't plug into the antenna wrong size on the BB. I have never needed an antenna on my BB even crossing Georgian Bay never lost signal.

Hmm.. I never thought of using the rubrail on a boat for the antenna. I am currently using one of my front bow rails (I only have a BR). I might see if I can get to a rub rail screw near my radio and hook that up as well....

How would you connect the 2 leads to the rub rail? Connect both or just the center conductor of the coax?

Just the center one. My Bayliner was done that way at the factory.
