Looking like its getting close to time to replace my ShurFlo fresh water pump. It wont shut off once i turn the dash switch on, and I havent found any leaking lines, so i'm thinking its the pressure switch. Its fine for now since i can just turn the switch on and off when i need to use the water system, however the replacement switch on my particular pump (3901-0216) is like $80, which seems crazy considering some replacement pumps cost exactly the same.

Anyone replace their pump with budget alternative with success?

Check out the Sea Flo products. Available on Amazon. About 1/3 the price, and seems to get about the same reviews as the Shurflo stuff.

A 3 gal/min is $50, and a 5.5 is $110.

I have bought a couple of their products/pumps, seems decent enough.

Was looking at them, but I did not find where they specifically stated they were ignition protected. My pump and water tank are in the enclosed engine compartment. Just an FYI

This. I'm on my second Sea Flo (2 boats) and can't complain at all. The Sure Flow in my current boat lasted 38 years and I doubt that the new one will but I hope to live long enough to find out. I initially looked at a direct replacement but at 1/3 the price I took a shot.
