Another year, another contemplation of upgrading the sound system... But this time I am going to do it!:smt038

I am looking for alternative locations for speaker placement. I would like to have some clean music on the outside of the boat but do not have a tower to mount speakers on. What have some of you all done on smaller deck boats and bow riders without towers? I have 220 SD that I will be working with.

Thanks!

I mounted bazooka tubbies by hanging them from my rolled up bimini with these very strong velcro straps that had a carribeaner on the bottom of it ( they were from home depot husky brand) only did this while not underway but worked out good while anchored

Are you looking for music when floating or while underway? I use a wireless, battery powered, water resistant speaker bunge corded to the tow eye on my platform that works great while anchored. It has a seperate volume control so it can be turned up for people in the water without having to turn up the sound in the cockpit for those wanting to talk. Cost me $40 for the speaker and about $20 for the motorcycle amplifier to drive it. Highly recommend it for an anchoring solution.

Would be an at anchor solution. Interesting idea. Inexpensive and effective. Something that I will have to look into. Where did you get the speaker?

I like the idea of a separate speaker on the swim platform. That way you can control the volume right where you'll be. One thing that burns my biscuits is to be out with family and friends, enjoying a nice quiet day and have some hot dog pull up too fast, too close, drinking too much and cranking their stereo so loud you could hear it a mile away easily. A bit of moderation is always welcomed.

I'm considering mounting of of these doohickies for the next time Mr. Hotdog arrives...

I am using an NXG model NX-WRLS1. I needed the amplifier to boost the output of RCA jacks on the back of the radio. Works great.

This is why I want the alternate speaker set up. Tired of enjoying my music and then to have some jack a$$ pull right next to me in a fishing boat; with right and left speakers on the console cranked up high and them and their crew hanging out on the other side. Use the f'n balance control for a little respect. Now I'm just ready to drown them out.
