Alternate HID Location '05 Sea Ray 180BR

I am looking at purchasing an '05 Sea Ray 180BR but the HID number on the transom is covered by a swim platform (someone didn't cut out a window for the HID number). Is there another location for the HID number?

Its HIN Number. If its not visible a PO added an after-market swim platform. Look at the paperwork to find out the number.

Thank you for your help. We were able grab the number. Apparently I need to look harder next time.

Usually a HIN will be hidden behind one of the bolsters. You would have to unscrew one to see it.

The requirement is for the HIN to be visible, and located upper stbd side of the outer transom. I never saw a bolster outside on the transom.

The HIN is hidden in other areas of the boat just as a VIN is hidden in other locations on a vehicle.

And just like a car, the "main" one is visible and in a standardized location.
