I have a 1982 210 cuddy. I am currently replacing the floors and front and rear bulkheads. There is a bilge well in front of the foward bulkhead. I noticed that there are no openings in the bulkheads to let water pass thru to the rear bilgI ( as i have seen in a 207 bowrider) . When i cut , glass, and replace the bulkheads can I add the holes. the step down seems to be on the same level as the floor under the tank and the rear bilge. I am assuming that the front well for the bilge is lower, hence the absence of the drain hole front to back. Yet it looks on the same level. Any help would be appreciated.

If this "forward well" is still within the bilge area, meaning it's not otherwise completely shut off from the bilge, then I don't see why not. However, if it is a separate entity from the bilge area, then I'd say (although please note that I'm saying this without fully knowing exactly what you've got there or all of the CG requirements) it's probably best to leave it the way it is.

If it is still part of the bilge area, just be absolutely sure it's not lower than it - otherwise it will get rather nasty in there. At the very least, use a PVC pipe for the drain and leave it extended into the "well" enough that you can put a plug into it.

Does it ever get wet in there, now?
