I was at a sound shop yesterday and the owner sells both JL Audio and Alpine marine speakers. He has the JL in his boat but thought the new Alpine listed here were better than his 7.7 jl comp. The tweeter is not connected to the bass portion, but is part of the speaker. (connects from one of the sides) Has anyone tested/bought these? I am thinking of upgrading my db650 from polk. These are only $179 or less on ebay. Much less than JL.
