One of the threads for the anode behind the prop is stripped. Can I use a helicoil to repair the thread? All the helicoils are SS and the carrier is aluminum.

I drilled deeper and tapped the hole, picked up longer bolts. All good!!

One of my alpha trim anodes is stripped so I took the washer off and grabbed that 1 thread and lock tite but I'll grab the 10/32 tap and make some fresh threads. Should be same size as prop carrier anode.

What size drill bit? Did you use heli coil or just drilled hole and used 10/32 to make new threads and then longer 10/32 bolts. Can you drill deeper on the trim cylinders? Wouldn't want to drill to far. Who knows if trim fluid is close by. Lol

Didn't drill... Just ran a tap on the outdrive....
Trim cyl, I just ran a longer pan head screw into the cyl until I got them tight... I think I added a couple of star washers to be sure it wasn't bottomed out...
 
That's what I was thinking to do. I have a 10/32 tap. I'll just get some longer 10/32 bolts

How are you making out with engines and closed cooling? You have a launch date yet?

Decided against the closed cooling... I actually ordered them and didn't like how they fit.. so back they went..
Installed engines last week, outdrives this week... fired up... so far so good....
Scheduled to go in May 1.... Hopefully I am ready..... How about you??

Engines/drives allset and painted just have to clean buff and wax and fuel up. May 1st at 930 for me. What about the 1/2 system? Good for resell.

I don't remember what size drill it was, looked it up on Google.

I wouldn't drill the end caps on the trim cylinders.

No helicoil used, just went a little deeper and used a longer bolt.
