Last thing to do before I splash is replace the zincs. So I am all done except the port prop zinc When I pulled the prop off the zinc was gone bolts were snapped off. So here is my problem cann't get the snapped bolts out and so I cann't put a new zinc on. Should I leave it off as all the other zincs are new as suggested by 3 other people at the marina. Also suggested that I put a bullet zinc on. Has any one else run into this problem and what did they do?

Are you talking about the zinc above the prop with a fin on it for trim? If so, this zinc only has one bolt. It is hidden under a plastic cap. The bolt is designed to be too large to get out from above. It should still be in there just bounced up aTnd not visible. After years of these zincs coming loose and falling off, I use locktite. The only way to get the allen head bolt out is to remove the lower drive. These fin zincs wear the most. I would replace it.

That's the bearing carrier zinc.

Those bolts are going to be mighty tough to get out. Chances are you will damage the threads if you try to drill / easy out. You could try cutting a slot in the end of the bolt with a grinder so you can use a straight screwdriver to back it out.

Lots of lube, maybe a little heat. I would smack it with a hammer before you do anything to possibly break it loose. There's probably a little corrosion in there.

Or, just leave it off.

I have had the same problem......since that anode sits on the bearing carrier it really can't go any place with the prop thrust washer against it.. for the last 2 years I have used 2 zip ties to hold them in place with no issue
