I just replaced the factory anodes. The question I have is the factory anode behind the prop came right off and I could actually turn it around in circles. The anode I replaced actually took a little tapping from a mallet to seat flush and has a much tighter fit. The part numbers are stamped and are the same. The prop spun freely after. Just wondering if if this is normal? I dont want to have created any type of resistance.

This is normal. Mine were the same. The center of my old anodes were slightly worn away creating a larger diameter opening. I used some emery cloth on the outdrive to clean up all the old anode and junk that had collected in there. The new one went on a little tight, but it seated all the way down.

Theres not really anything in there to hurt. Just make sure the prop spins freely.

The ones i install have 2 SS bolts to thread into the carrier, there never just hammered in place on GEN II lowers

To clarify, yes, mine have 2 bolts as well. It took a little tapping to get them seated. Then I put the bolts in.
