Hi,

I have a 2004 300 Sundancer with twin 5.0L with B3. Last fall, my marina reported one of the engines were out of alignment. The good news is they didn't find any wear so I just need the engine re-aligned. My marina has a habit of billing more time than it takes for each repair so I'm wondering how long it takes to re-align an engine. The drive is off and will be installed as part of the winterization package so its only the alignment of the engine. Thanks for your help.

bad engine/coupler alignment may be caused by rotted stringers,or rear motor mounts . If the front mounts were heavily rusted it`s difficult to adjust the nuts , bad rear mounts require the engine to be removed to repair them. Depending on what needs to be done affects the total cost of repairs.Maybe it was never done correctly at the factory and just needed a slight adjustment of the front mounts.

I had a survey done last winter (no problems) and the mechanic hasn't mentioned any issues with stringers. I just spoke to him and he thinks its just a simple alignment. He's quoting 2 hours.
