Alarm Location on 1991 270 DA Sundancer

Hello All, Hope someone can help me here.

I have a 1991 Sundancer and had a 383 stroker motor installed by the Marina where I dock my boat.
Where is the alarm located? I imagine somehwere under the dash. Tried to get wiring diagram from Sea Ray, but not joy.
Since the Stroker was installed, the alarm hasn't worked. I"m trying to get them to address the issue but thought I'd try and figure it out as well.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Below your "trailer" switch, there is an upholstered piece where the VHF radio is usually mounted. Remove the radio and the upholstered piece. The alarm (little black box) is located up in the area behind the shifter. As I recall, one of the wires is purple and comes from the ignition switch via a wire harness.

Thanks very much for the input. This is a great help. I'll check it out. It sure would have been nice if Sea Ray would have had an electrical wiring diagram for the boat. Oh well. Your help is greatly appreciated.
