Alarm going off..It beeps once in a while..

I'm a new boat owner with no experience at all on boating, learning as I go...The second time I took the boat out I got a short beep a couple of times,all my readings were good I'm running at about 168-170 all the time...It's happened at high rpm's and at low rpm's...I'm trying to detect when it happens,but just want to know if anybody has had the same problem?
It's a 4.3 Mercruiser i/o

If it beeps about every minute or two with 2 beeps it may be your IAC going bad. Mine started doing it this week too.
